2011 SPEAKERS
Sylvia Braderman is the Past President of The Garden Club of Harrisburg and studied the art of bonsai at Nature's Way Nursery. Sylvia combined her two passions, herbs and bonsai , to create "Edible Herbal Bonsai" in a Penjing style (Miniature Herbal Landscapes ). The herbal landscapes represent a combination of the Bonsai and Penjing traditions, combined with the many uses of Edible Herbs, in a new Living art-form, the "Edible Herbal Bonsai".
Mim Enck is the tea buyer and blender for The East Indies Tea Company. She has visited most of the tea growing regions around the world. In this light, it is my opinion that tea is the connector to many people and cultures. Her culinary background has served well in creating unique tea and herb blends. This belief in the blending of teas and herbs provides sheer enjoyment and relaxation.
Gail Leasure has been a beekeeper for the past four years and is the Secretary of the York County Beekeepers since 2009.
Susanna Reppert-Brill - Susanna and her husband David Brill are the owners of The Rosemary House, one of America's oldest herb shops, opened in 1968 by her mother and located in Mechanicsburg PA. Both she and her husband are graduates of David Winston's School of Herbal Therapeutics.
Barb Steele - Barb is the owner of Alloway Creek Gardens & Herb Farm located in Littlestown PA southwest of Gettysburg. She is a nationally known herbalist and grows hundreds of varieties of herbs on her century-old farm. Alloway Creek Gardens & Herb Farm has been an ongoing business for over 20 years.
Pat Sweetman is a long time member of the Herb Society of America becoming the founder of the Mason Dixon Unit in 2000. A 20-year member of Partners In Thyme Herb Club of Maryland and a Penn State Master gardener presently serving on the board for that group.
